Spread the Love!

It's all about the kids.

For the second year, AngelRide will be supporting The Arthur C. Luf Children's Burn Camp, operated by the Connecticut Burns Care Foundation. The only Burn Camp in New England, it provides a fun, safe, natural outdoor environment for kids ages 8 to 18 from around the world who have survived life-altering burn injuries.

The Arthur C. Luf Children's Burn Camp encourages camaraderie coupled with physical and social activities designed to help campers overcome anxieties, re-develop and enhance their physical skills, and allow them to move psychologically beyond their scarring and burn injuries.

All children attend free of charge. Expenses for lodging, meals, arts/crafts, activities and programs are paid for by the Foundation.

Most of these children have never seen a campground or enjoyed an overnight camp-out, let alone the many other camp activities which include campfires, hiking, fishing, archery, boating, and a challenging ropes course.

Firefighters, EMT's, medical professionals trained in treating burns, adult burn survivors, and caring individuals from many walks of life create the team of counselors that support the young survivors. All counselors serve on a volunteer basis.

It's also about you.

We aim to offer you an experience of a lifetime! From an athletic challenge, to the camaraderie and support of Riders and Volunteers, to a direct impact on the lives of children dealing with trauma, it is easy to see why AngelRide has become a tradition for so many.

On Saturday May 23, cyclists will pedal a Metric Century (62 miles) from North Stonington, or a Quarter Century (25 miles), of moderately challenging terrain and rolling hills through the beautiful countryside to Union, CT home of The Arthur C. Luf Children's Burn Camp. Your enthusiasm and commitment to this deserving cause will bring you and your donor's mutual fulfillment in supporting your efforts!

Activities will begin Friday night May 22 at Camp Wightman Retreat Center for the earliest registrants with an opportunity for dinner, entertainment and an overnight stay.

You will be departing from North Stonington and riding north through central Connecticut with the backdrop of quaint towns, open farmland and iconic woodlands. You will be well supported with: full-service Rest Stops every 15-20 miles, Motocrew, SAG vans, Bike Techs, Medical Riders and tons of dedicated, enthusiastic volunteers! Oh yeah... and fundraising tools to help share the love and ask for support in your journey.

  • Families and friends can cheer on riders as they cross the finish at The Arthur C. Luf Children's Burn Camp. The Finish line celebration will include a unique opportunity for guided golf cart tours for Riders and their families!
  • Little Angels, age 7 - 12 can ride 6 miles. (Roads are not closed.)
  • Teens are welcome to register for the Metric Century, Quarter Century or as a Volunteer!
  • Join the AngelRide family! Feel supported by the BEST Volunteers ever! Have fun and do good work!
